Intergasstroy JSC (in short IGS) is one of the leading construction companies in Kazakhstan. IGS was one of the few companies (from Kazakhstan) that was included with the official delegation that accompanied the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev to the United Kingdom. This was the first official visit of the President of RoK (Republic of Kazakhstan) to the United Kingdom. Mr. N.Nazarbayev took part in the opening ceremony of the 2nd session of the Kazakh-British Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Co-operation. He then attended an official lunch with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and met with the then Prime Minister David Cameron at 10 Downing Street. Mr. Nazarbayev also met with heads of leading UK companies which resulted in the signing of 14 bilateral documents. Following the meeting between President of the RoK, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and Prime Minister David Cameron, a number of key documents were signed, including the Memorandum of Understanding between William Hare Limited (Brandlesholme House, Brandlesholme Road, Bury, BL8 1JJ,United Kingdom), and Intergasstroy JSC (IGS) (Aksay,Kazakhstan). The MoU was signed in London at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom - Locarno Room between the Chairman of the Board of Directors of IGS Mr. Nurlan Kuanshaliev (from the Kazakh side) and the Director of William Hare Limited Craig Arnold. The purpose of the cooperation is to "Manufacture pre-engineered steel modules and assemble elements to them". The main activity is to deliver pre assembled modules to the Karachaganak Oil & Gas Condensate field to satisfy the KEP 1A&1B project needs (Karachaganak Expansion Projects).
The project delivery strategy is seen in such a way that; William Hare Limited (an internationally based organization, that provides value engineered steel solutions to some of the world’s most innovative and sustainable construction projects) having immense global experience in procurement and fabrication of steel structures and IGS’ vast construction experience at Karachaganak Oil & Gas Field, will provide integrated project delivery which will offer schedule and performance benefits to the Karachaganak Expansion projects. Primary, secondary fabrication along with procurement will be executed by William Hare Limited and Intergasstroy having a well equipped industrial base and appropriate skilled labor will engage in assembly, dressing (piping, equipment) and logistics to site. IGS’ industrial base with close proximity to the job site enables efficient movement of pre-assembled modules and pre-assembled components reducing the site labor requirements and accelerating the structural installation. Work is going to be performed in an indoor, climate controlled environment thus maintaining progress and productivity during extended periods of inclement weather which would limit or halt work in the field. William Hare Limited and IGS are now at the stage where the consortium will be presenting to the Client KPO B. V. the joint delivery strategy in fabrication and modularization. Since the signing of the MoU between IGS and William Hare Limited companies in 2015, it took seven years, during which time the cooperation between the two companies was at the stage of correspondences and marketing (E-mails, phone calls, presentations). The period from 2015 to the present was a period of pre-qualification and preparation for pre-bid participation in the large Karachaganak Expansion Projects. The Karachaganak gas condensate field offers big opportunities for the local market and for international companies. The volume of work on the upcoming projects is colossal, with investments (from client) of over $25 billion. IGS and Hare see the partnership as a very mutually beneficial cooperation.
